Port of Call is a solo project by Pieter van Vliet. Influenced by contemporary songwriters (under influence) like Jeff Mangum, Jason Molina and Sufjan Stevens he started writing songs/songs/songs+songs.
In July 2012 the first – highly appraised – full-length album came out: Ten Feet of Wind. Youth, carelessness and Greek goddesses are entangled with roaring trombones, banjo’s and tape-recorders; soaked in a sweet/sweet/sweet scent of intimacy. In 2016 Port of Call released Our Body Is Like An Ocean, It Changes: ten songs about longing, recorded in the Serpentine Studio.
Port of Call has extensively toured through Europe and Canada.
A new album is on its way.
